By completing adventures, Cub Scouts advance through the ranks. Each rank has six required adventures from common themes:
Character & Leadership
Outdoors
Personal Fitness
Citizenship
Personal Safety
Family & Reverence
To complete their rank, Scouts also complete two elective adventures chosen from a wide array of topics including STEM, cycling, fishing, swimming, etc.
Scouts start in the den associated with their school grade.
Kindergarten - Lion
1st Grade - Tiger
2nd Grade - Wolf
3rd Grade - Bear
4th Grade - Webelos
5th Grade - Arrow of Light
Lions and Tigers work with their adult partner (parent/guardian) to complete simple, fun adventures. Wolves and Bears begin to complete more complicated adventures with limited adult help. Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts start leading themselves and focus on preparing to join a BSA troop.
