Just like other team activities, Cub Scouts and adult leaders wear uniforms during Scouting activities.
Cub Scout uniforms demonstrate membership in the group (everyone is dressed alike) and display individual achievement (Scout's badges and loops they’ve earned). Wearing the uniform to meetings and activities also encourages a neat appearance, a sense of belonging, and good behavior.
Scouts wear their Field uniforms (commonly called Class "A") to all pack and den Meetings unless told otherwise. Activity (Class "B") uniforms are used for less formal activities.

Class "A" Notes:
Lions wear a Lion T-shirt instead of the blue Scout shirt and neckerchief.
Arrow of Light Scouts (5th graders) transition from the Cub Scout blue shirts and pants/shorts/skort to the BSA tan shirts and green pants/shorts/skort.
Clean pants/shorts of any durable material in good repair are acceptable in place of the official Cub Scout shorts, pants, or skort.
Cap and neckerchief colors change with each Cub Scout rank.
Webelos (4th graders) and Arrow of Light Scouts (5th graders) also wear a set of "adventure colors" provided by the pack on their sleeve.
Scout uniforms have a variety of insignia that can be overwhelming at first. Families only have to purchase the Cascade Pacific Council shoulder patch and red pack sleeve numerals. The pack buys all other patches and badges.
New Class "A" uniform items:
Free/discounted "experienced" uniforms, handbooks, etc.:
Pack uniform bank -- free for everyone, available at pack meetings
Online resellers, auction sites, etc. -- ask your den leader to be sure it's a current style
Class "B" shirts can be purchased from the pack (in both youth and adult sizes)
